The Recording Studio

The recording studio at Clearwave was designed with the musician in mind. The rooms are perfect for recording a full band live or recording one track a time. The studio includes a main studio floor, a large drum booth, a large vocal booth, and two small booths perfect for guitar amps. Our control room overlooks the main studio floor. Its design was inspired by the typical mastering studio and setup to be a very pleasing space for critical listening. All rooms have excellent line of sight and personal cue mixes.
In designing the studio, the sound of the rooms was imperative. The process involved acoustic treatment by scientific measurements and trial by error by ear. The results were very musical sounding rooms. In addition, the entire studio is wired with Mogami cabling for the ultimate in sonic clarity.

Jeremy Stephens:
head honcho (A.K.A. The Boss)

Hi, I’m Jeremy Stephens, a North Alabama based record producer, mixer, and recording engineer. I have 20 years experience creating inspiring records with the best artists from around the world. My musical approach in the studio is my biggest asset, I’m not just a “button pusher”. I help artists capture the best performances of their career and provide and mainstream sounding final product. Many of my techniques seem unconventional, but my philosophy is music should be interesting. I want to create something new and not copy what has been done before.
I began my career as a musician playing electric bass in various rock bands and eventually touring the southeastern U.S. I earned a degree in Entertainment Industry Management from The University of North Alabama and worked in various major Nashville recording studios. I eventually landed a job engineering for legendary rock producer, Johnny Sandlin (Allman Brothers Band, Widespread Panic, Capricorn Records). In 2002, I started Clearwave Recording Studio as a home for my own production projects. Since then, Clearwave has become a springboard for several successful acts such as The Alabama Shakes, Lamont Landers Band and James Irvin. In, 2016 I joined 10 Ton Records producing top rock acts in the U.S. guiding the next generation into the next era of the music business. www.jeremystephens.com
